Difference Between Force And Pressure
The major dissimilarities or difference between force and pressure can be described as follows:
1. Introduction
Force: It is a violent power that makes a body or object to change the state (push or pull)
Pressure: Force applied on a certain area of the body

2. Type Of Quantity

Force: It is vector quantity because it includes both direction and magnitude
Pressure: It is scalar quantity because it includes only magnitude and lacks direction.

3. Formula

Force: it can be determined by using the following formula
F = m x a
Where, F = force, m = mass and a = acceleration
Pressure: it can be determined by using the following formula
P = F/A
Where, P = pressure, F = force and A = area

4. Sl Unit

Force: Standard unit is Newton and it is denoted by 'N'
Pressure: Standard unit Pascal and it is denoted by 'P'

Force: It changes the velocity because it is vector quantity
Pressure: It cannot change the velocity because it is scalar quantity

Force: Dynamometer is used to measure force
Pressure: Manometer is used to measure pressure

7. Applied To

Force: It can be applied to face, vertices or edge of the body
Pressure: It can be applied to face or surface of the body
